big fun birthday bash!

sooo, this weekend we had our big birthday bash for masen, my sis and myself! and let me tell ya....it was a BLAST!!!! my sister and i spent two whole days cooking, and decorating....it was a lot of work, but totally worth it! we made potato skins, stuffed mushrooms, chicken basil pasta, black bean and corn salsa, bruchetta, artichoke dip and a big elk cake for masen! my mouth is watering just thinking about it! we also had a wonderful selection of drinks from margaritas, to beer, to mai thais!

we had a ton of wonderful friends and family show up, so it made it even better! masen had a hay day opening up his presents. he got camo and harley clothes, baseball bats,tractors, and play guns...along with a coon skin hat.... so he pretty much has no choice but to be a little bad ass! he spent the night with his cousins and when we picked him up in the morning, he opened all of his presents over again and had an even better time than the first time around! ha ha!

my sis and i made a really ghetto old mix of songs that we played throughout the night including hits such as barbie girl, macarena, the right stuff, i'm a bitch, and so on and so forth...i think everyone just loved it...or at least we got a kick out of it! i ended up knocking over one of the tables with all the drinks on it while jake and i were dancing, so i managed to embarass myself... like always:)

anyhow it was a grand ol' time and i want to wish my baby boy, and my awesome sis a happy, happy birthday!

so the last couple weekends the kids have gotten to go fishing. they have such a blast (when we are actually catching some) ellie likes to catch them in the net....while kiya just likes to hold the slimy little buggers...and masen just kinda sits and watches, but there is no doubt in my mind that he will love to catch fish too sometime in the very near future :) here are some pics...

it has been a while!

sooo...where do i start? this summer, so far, has been wonderful! we have been camping, fishing, partying, and hanging out in the sun! jake and i have been looking for a place to move into and i have been thinking about getting my job....i have yet to go apply :) i am trying to find a place close to where we are looking for a place, and a 4-10 p.m. job, so we will see! the kids are absolutly LOVING summer. ellie is almost there on the whole learning to swim thing and kiya is a little fish as well....masen is still warming up to the fact, which is a-ok with me! kiya's new obsession is pretty much anything i wouldn't touch...she loves filling up the horse corral with water and slip and sliding around...she loves frogs, breaking worms in half for us when we go fishing, and everything in between. it's gross, but it is soooo damn cute! masen has been talking up a storm.....he says everything(even things you don't want him to say) ha ha....my favorite would have to be when i was changing his diaper and he said "mom....thats disgusting! " and he always says "i love pop." anyways enough of me bragging about my little sweeties!

we have a few birthdays coming up including mine, masen's and my sisters...we are planning a fun cocktail party and it should be a blast! also, jake and i are going on 3 years in august.... it is such a good feeling...these days people hardly stay married for a year, so i feel pretty accomplished, and i know that there will be plenty more years to come, we are more in love every day! that sounds sappy and dumb, but it is the truth :)
