the worst weekend EVER

so...do you ever have one of those days when nothing goes right? well, for me, it has been a whole entire weekend.
lets see...to start it all off, we were planning on having a big bon fire party and we got food and such for it...and then everyone suddenly had to do other things...so we only had a few peeps over...and that was ok with me, until i tried going off of the rope swing. i missed the landing and my foot went one way and i went the other. so i woke up in the morning, and noticed that i could NOT walk whatsoever...i had to crawl or hop on one foot, and that is no fun. and the funny thing was...is that i just got a job that i was supposed to start that day...funny huh? so jake took me to st. al's in eagle and got the whole shebang...x-rays...the whole bit..and it ended up being a sprained foot....which i had no idea you could do. but i still couldn't walk, so i had to get crutches.
we went home and the kids broke a few glasses, kiya steped on some, so we had to remove that from her feet...and then it was off to work (well, training for work at least) i sat in the blazing hot building that doesn't have a/c yet along with a ton of other people and listened to the stuff the were teaching us. WHEN THE WORST THING OF THE WEEKEND CAME
i was sitting in the back row and the owner said, "um cassie, i need to see you" so i went t=with no intention of leaving...and she said "you might want to grab your purse and your things...it is an emergency"....oh shit. so i went outside and saw jake in te car with the kids..and ellie is screaming bloody mary. her bone was sticking out of her arm...so it was back to the hospital. but it was no sprain.....it was time for surgery. she was transferred downtown in a ambulance and me and the kids met she and jake there later. poor little girl had to wait like 6 hours before her surgery. she ended up getting 3 pins in her arm. she was soooo brave and i am sooo proud of her...but i could seriously go for ssomething positive at the moment. i'll keep you posted on how she is doing. signing out.

family camping 08'!!!

so i just got back from such a great 5 days of camping!!! we left thursday to head up to deadwood....and after about 3 hours of annoying bumpy roads, we finally made it there!

the first night was hecktic cause there was sooooo much stuff to set up and get ready....so we really didn't get a chance to hang out, but we got our tents and things set up...and i am now realizing that jake and i are probably the only people in this world that don't take an air mattress camping. what is up with the 3 layer blow up mattresses anyways? at least that is what i thought...i think our next camping purchase will be one of those little buggers :) my back feels like it is broken ha ha! the kids has fun even through all the chaos...there were millions of frogs up there so the kids had bucket and buckets of frogs...babies, mommies and daddies! and all of the millions of frogs had names. so cute! they also loved feeding the chipmunks! they started off the weeknd by dumping out the majority of the food we brought and feeding it to them.....jake was happy about that one ;)

the next day the rest of the fam showed up and we decided to bust into the margaritas! now that day was funny! we went on 4wheeler rides, went to the dam in the jeep and sang kid rock at the top of our lungs! it was sooo much fun! i don't think anyone felt at the top of their game that next morning!

the next day we just kinda dinked around in the lake....it was soooo gorgeous and it was just the right temp. to go swimming in....so i was out there swimming for a good 3 hours! later that night jeff, lana, jake and i decided to take the boat out and try to catch some fish. lana and i had a few shots of crown before we left, so we were a little giggly....we didn't notice that we lost our lure and hook right off the bat! and jeff didn't bother to tell us, so we were casting for no reason...but it was funy as hell when he told us the next day!

i don't want to bore you with every detail of the trip, so i will end here, but it was a wonderful weekend with wonderful company! i can't wait till next year!
